
Toronto, Canada –Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan participated in a community event hosted by the Union of International Democrats (UID) in Toronto, where he met with representatives of the Turkish and Muslim communities living across Canada.
The gathering provided an opportunity for Minister Fidan to exchange views with community leaders, hear about the experiences and aspirations of the Turkish diaspora, and reaffirm Türkiye’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its citizens and communities abroad.
During the event, discussions focused on strengthening cultural identity, promoting community engagement, and enhancing cooperation between Türkiye and the Turkish-Canadian community. Participants also addressed issues of mutual interest, including education, youth involvement, social cohesion, and the role of diaspora organizations in fostering dialogue and preserving cultural heritage.
The visit highlighted the importance Ankara places on its relationship with Turkish communities around the world and underscored the contribution of the Turkish and Muslim communities to Canada’s multicultural society.
