The much-anticipated film “A Sign of Faith “ Story of Nohad AL Chami” returned to the big screen at Cineplex Cinema in Montreal for a second showing, following the success of its first screening last month. Due to high audience demand, an additional screening is scheduled for December.
Starring an exceptional cast Julia Kassar, Yorgo Chalhoub, Maya Yammine, Melissa Aziz, and Therezia Tawk , the film brings to life the profound journey of Nohad El Chami, a woman whose suffering, faith, and extraordinary endurance continue to inspire generations
The famous touching sentence repeated throughout the movie, when Nohad speaks to Jesus, is: “All my suffering is nothing compared to a single wound in Your holy body “
Directed by the brilliant Samir Habchi, the movie beautifully revives Lebanon’s roots, nature, and cultural heritage, transporting viewers back in time through authentic visuals and powerful storytelling.
The event was attended by Nohad AL Chami’s youngest daughter, who was the youngest child born to Nohad , number 12, along with her granddaughter, adding a emotional presence to the evening.
The screening was organized by Haylove Hadchiti, as part of Lebanese Heritage Month in Canada , through Lebanese Film Festival distributed by New Dimension of the Universe, which has been instrumental in bringing Lebanese cinema to audiences abroad in Canada and North America
The screening was attended by numerous priests, journalists, and notable figures from the Lebanese diaspora in Montreal, all gathered to honor a story that reflects deep faith, resilience, and the spirit of Lebanon.
