Actress Takla Chamoun honored at the Lebanese Film
Festival in Canada
Montreal, Quebec (June 4, 2023): The 7th edition of
the
Lebanese Film Festival in Canada (LFFC) is already shaping up to be a strong edition with the honor of its distinguished guest, Takla Chamoun. During the opening ceremony of the festival’s red carpet event on June 3, 2023 at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, the acclaimed actress was presented with an honorary award from the festival and a recognition award from the Canadian government for her significant contribution to the Lebanese film industry. Lebanese director and film producer Tony Farjallah was also honored by the festival.
More than 350 guests attended the ceremony, including members of parliament, consuls, distinguished delegates, city councilors and media. The event also included a screening of Imen Ben Hassine’s “The Sons of the Lord,” followed by a discussion and Q&A session with Takla Chamoun moderated by LFF Canada Co-Founder and Program Director Sam Lahoud.

In addition, the actress Takla Chamoun and the festival team were received at the Lebanese Consulate in Montreal, where they met with the consul. Moreover, The actress Takla Chamoun was also honored at Concordia University by the university’s administration.
The LFFC will run from June 3 to June 13 in both Montreal and Ottawa. It is organized by New Dimension of the Universe, programmed by the Beirut Film Society, and produced in partnership with UTG Digital Media. The theme of this year’s festival is the “Rachid Karameh International Fair-Tripoli,” a jewel located in northern Lebanon. Designed by a Brazilian architect in the 1960s, this grand structure was a significant project for the modernization of Lebanon and stands as a remarkable example of modern architecture in the Arab Middle East.
